Welcome to Girl Power, the TAFL-listed fanlisting for the magical girl series Pretty Cure!
Pretty Cure is a long running magical girl series that began in 2004 with the release of Futari Wa Pretty Cure (We Are Pretty Cure). It featured magical girls known as "pretty cures" that each had a title, with the original two being Cure White (Honoka Yukishiro) and Cure Black (Nagisa Misumi). It uniquely focused on the physical fighting prowess of the cures, with the only magic shown in battles being the final attacks. Ever since then, every year has seen a new season of Pretty Cure, each welcoming a new cast, plot, and theme with the same basic structure! In addition there have been several "All Stars" movies where cures from multiple seasons come together against a common enemy, as well as tons of toys and merch! Despite the series being aimed at children, it has seen an international fanbase of all ages ever since its release.
